Make key information available
- Caption recorded media and provide transcripts where available.
- Share written steps, definitions and chart descriptions.
- Make alerts, transitions and changes to activity visible.
- Check that essential information is not audio-only.
Support classroom communication
Use predictable turn-taking, identify speakers and allow time to shift attention between a speaker, interpreter, captions and data materials. Arrange displays so learners can access both communication and the shared analysis.
Plan accessible analysis activities
Provide procedures and datasets in advance when useful. Discuss communication access for group work and agree how students can ask questions or contribute findings. Use non-wagering examples.
